Per the Q and A section of the “On the Right Track for 21st Century Service, BLET Local Division Nomination and Election Procedure 2006” pamphlet sent to the division by the National division for triennial election purposes the following applies:

          Q. When are nominations for officers?

          A. Nominations are to be held at the first regular meeting in September every third year. This means that if your local division holds two or meetings per month, nominations will be held at the first meeting in the month.

          Q. If only one nomination is received for a particular office, can the person so nominated be declared elected by acclamation?

          A. Yes. The president casts his vote in favor of the lone candidate, and that candidate is declared elected by acclamation. As a result, write-in votes are no longer permitted in division elections.

As a result of the nominations received and accepted at the September 5th meeting all local division officers for the next term, 2007 through 2009, were elected by acclamation and no ballots will be sent out.
